EKU Drops 2 games vs Loyola
2009-12-07
Sam Dupra will be heading back to New York to persue a career in Firefighting.
THe Colonels had a tough Weekend vs Loyola University as they spent over 40 minutes in the penalty box each gameEKU was unable to capitalize on their final home games of the semester vs Loyola in Northern Chicago. After a strong first period on Friday, the hard hitting action of the colonels cost them too much time in the penalty box. Loyola took full advantage of the numerous powerplay oppertunities and quickly put the game out of reach.
The story was similar in game 2 as the colonels came out strong but were unable to capitalize on their scoring chances. The lone Colonel goal came off of a rebound during one of the few Colonel powerplays.
Special Thanks to Goalie Sam Dupra who finished game one and started Game 2 over the weekend. Sam elected to move back to New York to persue a career in Firefighting and will not be returning to the team next semester. Always a ray of sunshine, Sam's positive attitude and enthusiasm for life will be deeply missed. Best wishes to Sam as he persues his New York Dreams!
